A couple of news items: ** Ocracats' Amazon Smile donations totaled $204.23 for the period of Oct. 1-Dec. 31, 2019. We thank you for shopping through Amazon Smile!! This is a great way to supplement our donations and we are so very grateful for all of you! Happy shopping!
** Facebook donations from the period January 2020 to March 4, 2020 totaled $3560.00! WOW!!! THANK YOU! This feeds about 250 Ocracats for about 3 1/2 months. That gives you an idea of our food bill. This is just part of the monthly expenses. Medical care and supplies ( spay/neuter, rabies immunizations, worm & flea treatments,kittens, carriers, etc) are worked into the budget as well. 100% of your donations go to the care and feeding of the Ocracats. We can't do what we do without YOU!
** We are working on the rescue cat calendar, so those of you who sent us pictures of your rescue kitty for our calendar choices---THANK YOU!! They are all just wonderful! You will be getting an email soon asking for more information on the rescue organization where you adopted your kitty.
** We are also working hard on having T-shirts and note cards for sale sometime soon, either on-island or by mail or both...we'll keep you updated on this.
The kitties are missing all of you and wondering where their human visitor friends are! We keep telling them you all will be here soon! We extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supports and loves the Ocracats. And, yes, we do have kittens who have been born recently, but none have been brought out by mommas yet....we'll let you know!
Believe it or not, Ocracoke is still very much in recovery and rebuilding mode since Hurricane Dorian and of course the lovely pandemic threw a wrench into everyone's plans! The cats also react to these situations. But, rest assured we are taking good care of the Ocrakitties and we can't wait to see our friendly visitors back on the island!
